Families of all abilities are invited to explore with the Norman Bird Sanctuary and the Newport County YMCA.
Join the Norman Bird Sanctuary and the Newport County YMCA for an afternoon of fun and exploration in nature. This free guided walk will take participants along the Universal Trail, a 1,500-ft ADA-compliant trail that tours rich forest habitats and extends to a viewing platform overlooking Red Maple Pond.
We’ll be observing the sights, smells and sounds of a summer afternoon hike. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, and observe the seasonal vegetation. Registration for this free 45-minute walk is required. Participants are asked to meet in the Norman Bird Sanctuary lot ten minutes prior to the walk. In the event of inclement weather, an announcement will be announced by Norman Bird Sanctuary determining whether the walk will continue or not.
